Lemon juice is a very effective remedy for pimples because it is very rich in vitamin C (richer than orange juice). It also has citric acid which promotes the removal of dead cells from the skin. Additionally, lemon juice is an astringent, which causes body tissues to contract and dry out the pimple. It provides a natural way to whiten the skin. You can aoolv lemon juice or combine with several other substances. For instance, vou mav combine it with rosewater which acts as a soothing, skin repairing agent. Rosewater balances the drying astringent properties of lemon juice. You may also add salt to increase the drying power of the lemon juice where necessary (use it with caution).
Rinse your face with water and pat it dry. Crush up the leaves thoroughly, you can use a blender but a mortar and pestle works quite well if you happen to have one lying around. Rub the juice and crushed leaves on your face and leave for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off thoroughly with cold water.

There are two ways to go about this-making a facial mask, or a straightforward scrub. For a facial mask, mix equal parts baking soda to water to form a thick paste. Massage the paste on in slow circular motions for a 2 minutes. Leave the mask on for around 15-20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water, pat dry, and moisturize.
lemon juice will not help you because it is an acid with a pH of 2 it has a chemical which binds with dna and allows uv rays to penetrate and damage your skin .Tooth paste woul be better as it is basic in nature. lemon spoilt my skin too.
Potato is a wonderful vegetable, to be sure, but one of its benefits may not be something you’ve heard of before. That benefit would be taming acne, as potatoes are full of potassium, phosphorus, and chloride-all components that can help reduce bothersome blemishes. They also have antioxidants to nourish your skin and encourage the healthy growth of new skin cells.
While it’s tempting to mix up a cure-all witches’ brew of whatever drying agents you have in the house, Dr. Tanzi says she sees a lot of irritation from DIY skin care products. Even toothpaste isn’t the remedy it was when we were teens. According to Dr. Zeichner, triclosan (the ingredient in toothpaste that has antimicrobial properties) is a rarely used these days. But if you are in a pinch and need to DIY it, here are some tips that are actually legit—and derm-approved.
When we sleep, healing happens, and at the same time, it’s a great time to apply a home remedy and let it get it to work on eliminating toxins that can cause acne. The Psychiatric Clinics of North America reports that stress is a factor affecting all organs. Though it’s easy to forget, the skin is an organ. In fact, it’s your largest organ! Getting plenty of rest can help reduce acne-associated stress. (9)
Keep your hair off your face as much as possible. I didn’t know this for a while, even if your hair isn’t greasy, having it on your face e.g. A fringe all the time stops your skin being able to breathe properly and blocks the pores more..
Eat a Balanced Diet And Drink Plenty Of Clean Water – Staying healthy and hydrated will give your body the necessary ammunition required to fight these scars. Water helps your body get rid of toxins.
This is something of a rule 0 in that it’s not an actionable step, but it is so important: That high school myth about how your Crest will dry out pimples is a load of garbage. In fact, despite the fact that many quick-fix acne treatments are billed as drying, sucking the moisture out of a pimple is more liable to make it worse than make it better. The best defense is good and regular skincare, which includes moisture. Since we’re working on a condensed timeline, though, we’re hauling out the bigger guns.
Exfoliate your skin after washing. An exfoliant is a skincare product designed to remove dead cells from the surface of the skin. Directions for use will vary depending on the exfoliant you’ve decided to use. Generally, however, you can simply shake a bit of your exfoliant out onto a cotton pad and press it into the affected skin.
To get rid of bacne, start exfoliating your back with a sponge or loofah whenever you shower to remove dead skin that clogs pores. Also, swap your body wash and lotion out with over-the-counter medicated alternatives, like a salicylic acid wash. It may also help if you spot treat your bacne with a benzoyl peroxide cream before bed. If your bacne persists, try switching up laundry detergents, and get a new filtered shower head — these things may reduce irritation on your back. For more tips, like using a retinol cream to get rid of bacne, keep reading!

Definitely avoid dairy foods as much as possible, as they are well known for being the cause of pimples and acne for many. Also any packaged foods and sugary foods are generally not good for the maintenance of clear skin. Try to stay as fresh and natural as possible for your diet, incorporating many fruit and vegetables, as well as nuts.
Both doctors recommend the use of retinoid skin products for both kinds of acne marks. These creams brighten and heal the skin. For an over-the-counter solution, Dr. Bowe suggests RoC Retinol Correxion Instant Facial Smoother, and for prescription remedies she usually puts her patients on Differin, Tazorac or Retin-A Micro. Dr. MacGregor advises patients to use Elure products, which utilize an enzyme called melanonzyme to even out your skin tone.
Comedonal acne: This type of acne is also caused by oil and debris clogging pores, but is characterized by skin-colored bumps called papules. These are typically found on the forehead or chin and are called “comodones,” but are more commonly known as blackheads. They may either be closed, where the follicle is completely clogged, or open.
If you have pimples that are already popped and your having a hard time healing them put polysporin on them whenever your not going out then leave it on till you go to shower next and don’t touch the areas that have polysporin on them or you will have to re apply. It heals them as if it was a cut, seriously works so good.

Pimples. Acne. Zits. Bumps. Spots. Whatever you want to call them, they are annoying, and chances are, they will happen at the most inopportune time. You might think that once you pass puberty, you’re in the clear as far as blemishes are concerned, but that is not always the case.
Hi Claire, thank you so much for all the advice. I am 18 years old and have suffered from acne for quite a while now. I have tried so many products and nothing seems to be working for me, I’m also very health conscious and therefore do not want to take any medication for it. The places i suffer mostly are my back, chest, neck and face, will these home remedies help for all those areas? and what else can i do to reduce the oil and blackheads on my face? A BHA product often cited includes salicylic acid, it must be between a pH between 3 and 4 to work. A BHA works to slough (to get rid of) off dead skin cells and encourage new skin growth. As a result, you may experience dry skin and scaliness around your acne, but this will dissipate over time as your skin begins to regenerate faster. Use this in a cleanser or spot treatment daily on the acne-affected areas of your skin.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is not an acne scar, but a red, pink, brown or tan skin discoloration where acne has previously flared up. It will usually disappear on its own in a year or so. Many skin lightening products claim to help reduce the visibility of these acne “scars.” Their active ingredient, hydroquinone, works to slow melanin production and can reduce dark brown marks, but melanin isn’t the cause of red and pink acne discolorations. A better option is to use the best foundation for acne prone skin you can find to hide the marks until they naturally fade away.
Spironolactone. This diuretic packs an anti-testosterone effect, which is especially effective in treating acne in patients with the hormonal disorder polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS, says Dr. Lee. “Patients also like how it improves the feel of their skin by reducing oil production,” she says.
Toothpaste can help dry out a pimple, but it’s not a real solution for acne and can damage your skin. Stick to products made specifically for acne. Alternatively, there are some natural solutions you could try. For example, many people have great success clearing up acne by washing the affected area with honey (particularly manuka honey) daily or using it as a mask. You can also use it as a spot treatment.
I would not recommend using the garlic remedy if you have sensitive skin like me. I had a large pimple on my nose which then caused me to find out how to get rid of it so I then put garlic on it and moments later i removed it from the pimple and noticed a large burn on my skin which then didn’t go away for another month leaving me with a scar on the spot where the pimple was. Although the acne did go away I am still left with a large red mark where it appeared on my nose.
Acne remedies benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid are key ingredients in body washes designed to get rid of acne. Choose an oil-free body wash with acne medication like benzoyl peroxide or 2 percent salicylic acid. Apply the body wash to the affected areas and leave on for a minute or two to allow the acne medication to work its magic. Rinse well. Remember that products that contain benzoyl peroxide bleach fabric and may ruin towels, clothes and sheets/pillow cases. Change to white or something you don’t mind bleaching.
Acne that’s more inflammatory is denoted as moderate acne. This happens when there are occasional nodules and possibly mild scarring. Severe acne occurs when there are a lot of inflammatory lesions, nodules and possibly scarring. It’s also considered severe if the acne is still present after six months of treatment or if it causes serious psychological issues.
People with skin prone to acne are usually sensitive to testosterone, a natural hormone present in both males and females. In such people, the testosterone triggers oversecretion of sebum, which leads to blockage of pores. Sometimes, dead skin cells get stuck to the sebum and make matters worse (4).
