In particularly troublesome cases of acne, a specialized drug known as accutane can be prescribed. This is an incredibly intense retinoid treatment that has shown to almost completely remove all acne in users. However, it has the most serious side-effects of any acne-fighting drug and should be used with extreme caution.
At the very least, wash your hands frequently throughout the day. You’ll also definitely want to clean your skin at night to remove acne-causing bacteria. For chin and jawline breakouts, I recommend a non-drying, sulfate-free cleanser that uses salicylic and glycolic acids. Salicylic acid helps keep bacteria out of the pores, and glycolic acid smoothes and fades post-breakout marks. AHA/BHA Blemish Control Cleanser gives my client’s great results.
Like touching your face, cell phones are not the cause of acne, but they can potentially worsen it. Unfortunately, there’s plenty of bacteria on your mobile device. Wipe it down daily to avoid unnecessary bacteria from transferring to the skin.
Silicone gel sheets have been commonly used on burned victims ever since the 1980s. A study conducted showed that silicone gel sheets actually worked better that some creams or oils that many recommend. They really make it less noticeable.
Why ? Because milk contains some lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) that works as a mild, natural exfoliant to remove dead skin cells and even out the tone of your skin. So it will also help reduce scars and blemishes

Find products containing azelaic acid. Azelaic acid is an antibacterial that also helps to reduce redness and inflammation and is found naturally in wheat and barley. If your acne tends to leave dark marks on your skin, try a product that uses azelaic acid to clean your pores and reduce acne-produced dark spots.
Now, we all know you’re not supposed to pick skin, but some people think that picking these non-acne bumps is harmless. Not so! Picking can lead to unsightly scarring that’s far worse than the bump you started out with, so resist the urge.
After cleansing the face, and the use of some local anesthesics or sedation if necessary, a round knife is used to cut and remove the portion of the scarred area of the skin. It is usually limited to one scar.
Exercise regularly. Exercising does a number of things to help reduce your acne. It releases endorphins which lower stress levels and therefore reduce oil-production and also makes you sweat which cleans out dead skin cells. Try exercising on a daily basis for a minimum of thirty minutes to help reduce your acne not only on your face, but also on your chest, shoulders, and back; which is where the term “bacne” comes from.
Eat a Balanced Diet And Drink Plenty Of Clean Water – Staying healthy and hydrated will give your body the necessary ammunition required to fight these scars. Water helps your body get rid toxins.
Few things can deflate confidence more than waking up with a big ol’ honkin’ zit. I know. The word is even gross. It’s the ultimate killjoy. And the worst part of all is it’s not like blemishes just magically disappear in an hour, even though they appear in a split second and out of nowhere! We have to live with them for a few days. And it sucks. Somehow zits always show up right before a big event, special occasion, or first date, right? How do they know?
You should drink eight glasses of water daily to reap these benefits. Over time, swapping sodas and other beverages for water may lead to an overall reduction in chest acne and an improved skin complexion.
I agree that the ice works i use it every time I have a pimple, also afterwards for better results I would wash my face before with soap or whatever you wish to use, put the ice on then put my moisturizing lotion and my face feels soft
No one should use toothpaste. Even though it does work, it damages your skin a lot because it burns the surface of the skin. I have tried the ice, it does work but it takes some time. Also tried the honey and cinnamon paste and that works like a charm. Keep applying the paste for about a week and you will definitely see a difference. I did 🙂
“Sun exposure makes scarring appear more prominent,” says Dr. Shah. When your skin isn’t properly protected, UVA and UVB rays can darken acne marks and scars. “Sunlight can even penetrate through your clothing so it’s important to be diligent about applying it everywhere, every day.” And don’t worry about breaking out from a pore-clogging sunscreen; the latest formulas are more innovative and acne-friendly than ever. Elta MD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 is a top derm-approved favorite. It contains niacinamide, which is an anti-inflammatory that helps reduce redness.
