Same I usually don’t get acne but I got this face demon on my nose and I wanted to cry but then I saw these diy remedies and I tried all of them the best ones were the steam ,honey, toothpaste and ice
I have recommended Clean & Clear Advantage Oil Free Moisturizer (available at supermarkets and drug stores) to many of my clients who have used it with good results. The product is a light moisturizer containing salicylic acid and is especially good if you have short hair. I use the product in the summer when I tend to break out a bit on the back of my neck and it doubles as my styling product.
Keep your hair off your face as much as possible. I didn’t know this for a while, even if your hair isn’t greasy, having it on your face e.g. A fringe all the time stops your skin being able to breathe properly and blocks the pores more..
If all else fails, consider prescription medication. I always think that prescription medication (especially oral antibiotics) should be a last resort. However, if you’ve exhausted every possible option, this might be worth trying. I’ve also heard that adrenal fatigue can cause acne. You may want to research that condition more and consult with your doctor. Getting to the root of the problem is always best, however, it’s never easy to figure out. If there was a one-size-fits-all cure, we would all know about it.
Don’t sit around in sweaty clothes after working out or doing an activity that makes you sweat. Those dirty clothes are keeping the sweat on your skin, which is going to cause you to break out. Also, just sitting in sweat for hours isn’t good for acne. Shower right after a sweat sesh, or if that’s not possible, at least wipe the area and change.
Despite the popular belief that certain greasy foods directly contribute to acne, there is actually insufficient evidence of a link between “food enemies” and pimples. While that means no food is inherently evil when it comes to causing breakouts, some are certainly better than others. To keep skin in check, Dr. Day suggests eating a diet high in antioxidants and low in processed foods. Still, she cautions that a diet overhaul alone won’t clear up skin. Here are foods that can help clear acne (and a few that make it worse!).
Blackheads are open pores filled with dead skin and oil, and they appear black at the surface. It is due to the way the clogged pore looks in the light, not because the pore is filled with black dirt.
“After sweating, immediately use an exfoliating cleanser to help keep your pores clear and remove excess oil,” says Dr. Zein Obagi of ZO Skin Health. Try keeping Neutorogena Rapid Clear Pads in your gym bag or locker for those times you need an on-the-go cleanse. These will remove any leftover dirt while treating your skin with acne-fighting salicylic acid.
Crush peppermint leaves and make a paste of it. Apply this paste to the pimples twice a day for 20 minutes then wash it off with cold water, continue this process for a week or two and the pimples will get smaller
Even more embarrassing are the scars and pimple marks that are left behind after the pimples have healed. The scars will always remind you of the pain you went through when you were battling these pimples.
Your skin goes through a process of cell turnover, where dead skin cells emerge to the surface (epidermis) to make way for new skin cells. But dead skin cells don’t always shed on their own. They can end up staying in your pores and clogging them, leading to acne.

Renée Rouleau is a celebrity esthetician with 25 years of experience. Early on, Renée recognized that every person’s skin is unique; however, the skin care industry mostly relied on a one-size-fits-all approach to skin care.
In addition, do not squeeze or pop your Zits as it will only make the condition worse. As different individuals have different types of skin, the effectiveness of these remedies also varies from one individual to another.
The toothpaste really works. I first tried putting it on at night- and I suppose it helped some. But what works better for me is to put it on after I wash my face in the morning with a scrub. It stings more but it’s not that bad. I keep it on for 30 minutes and then I wash it off.
You can also mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and put it on the pimples overnight. In the morning, wash the skin well with lukewarm water. However, this particular remedy is not suitable for those with sensitive skin.
The sebum gets accumulated behind blocked pores. This sebum that builds up behind the blocked pores contains bacteria. A slow growing bacterium, Propionibacterium acne, thrives naturally in the skin. When the conditions are suitable, this bacterium spreads and cause painful pimples. It feeds on sebum and produces a substance that leads to an immune response and also causes skin inflammation (3).
Find products containing azelaic acid. Azelaic acid is an antibacterial that also helps to reduce redness and inflammation and is found naturally in wheat and barley. If your acne tends to leave dark marks on your skin, try a product that uses azelaic acid to clean your pores and reduce acne-produced dark spots.

There actually are a few ways to drastically reduce the life of a pimple — to a day or possibly even … wait for it … an hour! Yes, we’re being completely serious. It’s possible. And it also doesn’t mean we have to make a quick run to the local drugstore either. (Sometimes we don’t even have time for that, because pimples like to pop up during the most inconvenient of times.) The best part is that all the goods are probably sitting right in our medicine cabinets or kitchen right now. Does it get any easier than that? We sure do love a quick fix. Plus, these methods are way better than spending money on some pimple cream with chemicals that you know nothing about.
Reduce stress: Some studies have linked stress to an increase in acne severity. Ask your healthcare provider about relaxation techniques and lifestyle changes that might help you reduce your stress levels (46, 47).
i am 14 too and it does work I had 3 days to get rid of acne before my semi-formal and it went away. the toothpaste only works if you use pure toothpaste. don’t use with any kind of gel. also honey works only with dry skin and if you are allergic to anything in the honey you are using don’t do it! also don’t use honey you buy from the store use homemade honey if you have the access to it. Lemon juice, garlic, and steam all work but it all works for different skin types, try them all and see what works best for you.
In addition to starting acne patients on a benzoyl peroxide cleanser regimen, Doris Day, a clinical associate professor of dermatology at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City and the author of 100 Questions & Answers About Acne, typically prescribes powerful topical ingredients, such as Aczone, a cream. “It’s dapsone, which is a new category of anti-inflammatory,” she says. “I like it because you can use it in combination with other treatments, and it doesn’t make you more sun-sensitive. And it’s not particularly drying or irritating.” Day also suggests prescription products that combine benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin (an antibiotic that fights acne-causing bacteria), such as Acanya, BenzaClin, and Onexton. She says, “When you’re using an antibiotic for acne, benzoyl peroxide helps increase the effectiveness.”
Buy a cleanser for your skin type. Skin may be oily, dry, or combination, and each type has a different cleansing need. You may also have sensitive skin that reacts negatively to harsh chemicals. Most face washes are created for a specific type of skin. In some cases, your acne may clear up within a week!
Echinacea is traditionally used to speed wound healing and prevent colds and flu, but its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties can help with acne as well. Use echinacea tea as a daily face wash by soaking a cloth with it, or put a few drops of tincture on a cotton ball and dab it on blemishes.
Volcanic mud from the Rotorua area of New Zealand makes the adhesive base for these pore strips, which come seven to a box. The Face Shop’s volcanic clay nose strips come pre-moistened and with a transparent strip to remove before adhering to the skin.
